OLGA P. SALINAS
PHARR - Olga P. Salinas, 91, died Monday, February 27, 2012, at her residence in Pharr.
Born in Alice, Texas, Mrs. Salinas had lived in Pharr most of her life. She loved her music as she gave 25 years of service as a music teacher to the P-SJ-A schoolchildren. She shared her love of music with many and gave her talent to her Lord and La Trinidad United Methodist Church.
Our mother, a woman who devoted her life to us, made a wonderful life for us all. She exemplified discipline - for us and for all; she was full of life, and was loved and respected by many.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Santos Salinas; two brothers; and four sisters.
Mrs. Salinas is survived by a son, Guadalupe (Nellie) Salinas, of Alamo; a daughter, Yvonne (Jose Luis) Montemayor, of Harlingen; three grandchildren, Jaye (Kim), Omar (Sarah), Holly Montemayor; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Omari, Jeremiah, Basil, Emma.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, February 29, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
