Roberto Salinas Jr.

ROBERTO SALINAS, JR. LA BLANCA — Roberto Salinas Jr., 53, died Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Edinburg, Roberto had lived in La Blanca for 28 years and was formerly of Faysville. He was employed by ECISD for 22 years and was involved with Edinburg High School FFA. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos and was assistant coach for TYFA RGV Javelinas. Roberto is survived by his wife, Gloria Salinas; two children, Monica Salinas and Robert J. “Bobby” Salinas, all of La Blanca; his parents, Roberto Sr. and Maria Rita Salinas, of Edinburg; and six siblings, Emilia Salinas, Fernando (Susie) Salinas, Edna (Conrado) Garza, Oscar Salinas, Elvira (Robert) Garza, all of Edinburg, Eva Nava, of San Juan. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
