ROBERTO V. SALINAS JR.
EDINBURG – Roberto V. Salinas Jr., 63, died Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.
Mr. Salinas was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. He served 23 years with the Edinburg police department and 18 years as a teacher with the Edinburg ISD.
He is preceded in death by his, parents, Roberto and Celia Salinas.
Mr. Salinas is survived by his wife, Genoveva P. Salinas of Edinburg, three children, Veronica Salinas of Houston, Texas, Sandra Salinas of Dallas, Texas and Roberto Salinas III, of Edinburg; one granddaughter, Bianca Bree of Dallas, Texas; a brother, David (Letty) Salinas and a sister, Delia (Ray) Navarro both of McAllen; his mother-in-law, Maria L. Perez of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 15, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
