SAUL SALINAS
SAN JUAN - Saul Salinas, 91, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Mission Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in General Trevino, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Salinas had lived in San Juan for 25 years and was formerly of Toledo, Ohio. He was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Guadalupe Salinas; two brothers, Santiago Salinas, Alfredo Salinas; and five sisters, Placida Salinas, Soledad Salazar, Maria Del Jesus Cantu, Alejandra Chapa and Natividad Benavidez.
Mr. Salinas is survived by his wife, Olga Salinas, of San Juan; a son, Roberto (Darci) Salinas, of Carlisle, Ohio; three daughters, Corina (Fred) Murillo, of Pharr, Elvia (Mayelo Valdez) Salinas, of San Juan, Letti (Patrick) Gavin, of Charlotte, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Consuelo Salinas and Porfiria Sifuentes, both of Brownsville; and a brother, Armando Salinas, of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, April 28, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
