Francisco "Frank" Salinas Sr., 72, went home to our Lord Monday, March 15, 2021, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born at his residence in Hidalgo County, Frank had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He served in the US Army, where he received a National Defense Service Medal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Monica Paz and Donaciano Salinas; and six siblings.
Frank is survived by his former spouse, San Juanita "Janie" Salinas of Santa Rosa; four children, Francisco (Shelly) Salinas Jr. of Clovis, CA, Javier Estevan (Maricela) Salinas of Edinburg, Olivia Marie (Juan Jr.) Hernandez, and Angie Marie Salinas, both of Santa Rosa; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Raul (Linda) Salinas Sr. of Madera, CA; a sister, Maria "Lucha" Bulnes of Clovis, CA.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Monday, March 22, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Dismissal will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Military Honors will be conducted by VFW post 8788 of McAllen.
Serving as pallbearers will be Javier Salinas, Francisco Salinas Jr., Raul Salinas Jr., Daniel Salinas, and Johnny Castro.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
