ALVARO SANCHEZ
EDINBURG – Alvaro Sanchez, 80, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Veracruz, Mexico, Mr. Sanchez had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Sanchez and Teodora Lechuga; three brothers, Rodolfo Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez, and Alberto Sanchez; and a sister, Patricia Sanchez.
Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Maurilia Sanchez of Edinburg; nine children, Janie (Oscar) Escamilla, Alonso (Pat) Sanchez, Alvaro (Esther) Sanchez Jr., Thelma (Jorge) Garza, Arnold (Elsa) Sanchez, Andy (Angie) Sanchez, all of Edinburg, TX, Arturo (Hilda) Sanchez of Hidalgo, TX, Alex (Margaret) Sanchez of Houston, Texas, and Sonia (Jessie) Vasquez of Alvin, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Refina Rodriguez of Edinburg, Petra Sanchez of Hargill, and Guadalupe Sanchez of Reynosa, Tamp., Mexico; and a brother, Gabino Sanchez of Hargill.
A rosary was held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, April 8, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
