CRESENCIO SANCHEZ JR.
EDINBURG/MCALLEN - Cresencio Sanchez Jr., 56, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at University Hospital in San Antonio.
Mr. Sanchez had lived in McAllen and Edinburg most of his life. He was employed by the City of McAllen as an Animal Control Supervisor for 29 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cresencio Sanchez Sr.
Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Mary M. Sanchez, of Edinburg; five children, Marissa (Thomas) Ribas, Javier Adrian (Amanda) Sanchez, Crystal (Andy Vega) Sanchez, all of McAllen, Dr. Marina (Bernie) Villalobos, of Mission, and Marissa (Orly) Tijerina-Montalvo, of Edinburg; his mother, Maria Dolores Sanchez, of Edinburg; five grandchildren, Todd Devin Brauckmiller, Mateo Villalobos, Kareena Villalobos, Alexander "Alex" Cuellar, Kaiden Cross Montalvo and another grandchild on the way; three brothers, Frank (Rosie) Sanchez, of Pharr, Joe (Noelia) Sanchez, of Edinburg, and Aniceto (Carmen) Sanchez, of Mission; four sisters, Rosie (Albert) Espinoza, Gracie (Jesus) Espinoza, Lucie Gonzalez, all of Edinburg, and Dolores (Martin) Blanco, of McAllen.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2011, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Memorial Funeral Home, in Edinburg 208 E. Canton. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sarada Gummadi, Dr. Meza, and Dr. Samuel Serna from Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Also special thanks to the doctors and staff at University Hospital and to Blas Villa, RN, for all their care and support.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
