EDINBURG - David Joseph Sanchez, 66, went home to our Lord Saturday, January 9, 2021.
He was accomplished and well respected by many. David was a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse, a member of the Kiwanis Lions Club and proudly served his country in the United States Army in the First Infantry Division from 1972-1977.
David was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, son, brother, and uncle. A pillar for the Sanchez family, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family the most. He cherished his memories of traveling with the love of his life, Darlene. David was known for his cheerful attitude and a bright smile. He had a special way of making those around him laugh and feel loved. He lived life to the fullest and always shared his love for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing with all who knew him. Everyone was family to David. To know him was to love him. He spent many years building caring and joyful relationships with everyone he knew, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Emilio J. Sanchez; his loving wife Darlene; and his son David Jr.
David is survived by his mother, Maria R. Sanchez; and six siblings, Josepha (+Manuel) Grajeda, Sylvia (Froylan) Carranza, Steven (Baldomera) Sanchez, Cristina (Roel) Munoz, Rebecca (Art) Sosa, and Magdalene G. Barbee. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jack Huntly, Tina Lewis, Sharon Leidal, Kathy Moravitz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Today, although we miss David terribly, we are comforted knowing he is celebrating with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. David will be laid to rest on Friday, January 15, 2020, among his family and close friends.
~Until we meet again David, you'll forever be in our Hearts~
