MARIA E. SANCHEZ
EDINBURG - Maria E. Sanchez passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:05 a.m. to be with the Lord at the age of 93 in Edinburg surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 23, 1918 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.
Maria dedicated her entire life to caring for her parents, thus she never married, which was her wish to remain single.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bardomiano P. Sanchez and Sebastiana Escobedo Sanchez; two brothers Trinidad (+Cesaria) Sanchez, Leonel Sanchez; and a sister, Benigna (+Sandalio Sr.) Trevino.
Maria is survived by her niece/caretaker, Oralia S. (Thomas) Rojas of Edinburg; two sisters, Francisca S. (+Guadalupe) Morales of Mt. Angel, Oregon, Valentina S. (J.C.) Ybarra of Edinburg; two brothers, Raymundo (+Olga) Sanchez of Pharr, David (Elva) Sanchez of Edinburg; numerous nieces, nephews and family members that have so many beautiful memories of the great love they recieved from Maria.
Special thanks to Oralia and her husband, Tom Rojas, that so lovingly cared for Maria in such a way that helped to prolong her life. May God bless them.
A rosary was held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., today, April 20, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be: Eloy H. Sanchez, Joel Sanchez, Armando Sanchez, Thomas Rojas, Rogerio Sanchez and Richard Ybarra.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
