ANGELITA CALVILLO SANDOVAL
PHARR- Angelita Calvillo Sandoval, 87, went home to the Lord on December 16, 2020, and is now in glorious peace with our loved ones in heaven.
Born on August 13, 1933 in San Diego, TX, Angelita was one of five siblings raised in Pharr. At the young age of 19 years old, Angelita met the love of her life, Carlos G. Sandoval. Later, they got married and created a life for themselves and their five daughters in Pharr. In a house built through hard work, sacrifice, and love, Angelita raised her five children and maintained her household while Carlos worked as a dedicated law enforcement officer. Her family was what she lived for. Angelita instilled in her children the importance of God, morality, and the love for your family as the pillars of their being. Her most cherished times were Friday night gatherings at her home with Carlos, her girls, and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Carlos G. Sandoval; her oldest daughter, Cynthia Ann Sandoval Reyes; her parents, Miguel and Leonor Calvillo; and a brother Jesse Calvillo.
Angelita will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Yolanda (Jesus) Sanchez, Diana (Rick) Olvera, Belinda Sandoval, Judy (Bryan Acosta) Sandoval; ten grandchildren, Jesus (Jay) Sanchez, Eric Olvera, Gabriel Reyes, Adrian Sanchez, Crystal Garza, Carlos (CJ) Sanchez, Albert Olvera, Alex Serna, Michael Sandoval, and Cynthia Serna; seven great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Pete Calvillo, Lupita (Hector) Rodriguez, Tim (Hazel) Calvillo, Joe (Mary) Calvillo, and Tony (Eleo) Del Toro.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Comfort House was established in 1989 and is a non-profit organization that provides a home-like environment for the terminally ill who have a prognosis of four months or less to live.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
