Elizabeth B. Sandoval

ELIZABETH B. SANDOVAL PHARR – Elizabeth B. Sandoval, 83, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in O’Donnell, Texas, she had lived in Pharr all of her life. Mrs. Sandoval was a caring and loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was also a proud owner of Laiza’s Beauty Salon in Pharr for 20 years. Mrs. Sandoval had been active in her Church, she taught Sunday school for 30 years, prison ministry, and musical specials. She was also part of the choir at Temple Bethel in Pharr, and was a graduate of Instituto Biblico Bethel. Mrs. Sandoval will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Renulfo Sandoval; parents, Luciano and Celina Bernal; two grandsons, Enrique Homero Murillo, Jr. and Robert Eli Rascon; and two sisters, Elenora Garcia and Evila Hays. Mrs. Sandoval is survived by six children, Oscar (Rev. Sally) Sandoval, Olivia Sandoval, both of Pharr, Odet (Homer) Murillo, Odilia (Hector) Murillo, Ofelia (Daniel) Saenz, all of McAllen, and Olaya (Rev. Robert) Rascon, of Farmington, New Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tiberio C. (Soon) Bernal, of Pharr; two sisters, Elisena De Leon of McAllen, and Elfida Davis, of Hernando, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, January 11, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
