ALAMO - Francisco "907" Sandoval, 81, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2020, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Pancho or "907" as he was known, was a humble, caring, hardworking, strong-willed person who was always willing to help someone in need. He was a successful business owner and operator of Sandoval 907 Drive-in Alamo. His beloved wife Refugia and two sons Jaime and Jose were always available to pitch in when Pancho was helping his beloved community. He was a life-long parishioner and active member at Resurrection Catholic Church as well as a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 2559- Bishop Enrique San Pedro, S.J. He also served the City of Alamo in many capacities; he was co-founder of the Texas Independence Day Parade, former City Commissioner, and Industrial Development Corporation Board Member. He also served as a Commissioner of the Hidalgo County Housing Authority and was recognized as the City of Alamo's inductee to the inaugural Walk of Fame in Hidalgo and KGBT citizen of the week.
Francisco is preceded in death by his wife Refugia M. Sandoval; his parents, Jose and Genoveva Sandoval; four siblings, Hilaria Flores, Juan, Maria and Jose Jr. Sandoval.
Mr. Sandoval is survived by his two children, Jaime (Linda) Sandoval, Jose (Ydalia) Sandoval; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Carlos, John Paul, Emma Sandoval; Frankie Sandoval, Adam, Jorge, Nicholas; one brother, Roberto Dominguez.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. rosary on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Pallbearers are as follows: Frankie, Alyssa, Carlos, John Paul Sandoval, Nicholas Martinez, and Jorge Barocio.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
