GUADALUPE DEANDA SANDOVAL ALAMO — Lupita died on Friday, February 13, 2015, of natural causes. She was born in Alfred, Texas on May 7, 1921 Lupita grew up in Banquete, Texas and spent most of her adult life in Alamo. She was known as hermana to all her friends at San Pablo Methodist Church where she was a devoted member. Lupita loved to see, talk and visit with all her friends and family; she was a very loving friend, daughter, sister, cousin, mother, grandmother and aunt. She would bake a special pecan pie and have candies and pan dulce for all who came by to visit. Lupita was very generous and giving. She often saved her money and would buy toys for neighborhood children. Everything she had she wanted to share with others. She religiously prayed each and every day and gave thanks to God for ALL that she had. Her daily blessings will be missed by all who were the subject of her devotion and dedication in her prayers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Andres Deanda and Lorenza Valerio Deanda; and her husband, Franscico M. Sandoval. Lupita is survived by her son, Jose Gonzalo (Silvia) Sandoval of Corpus Christi, her granddaughters, Sonia Sandoval (James) Watt and Estela (David) Cockrell, her eight great-grandchildren, her brother, Jose Deanda of San Antonio, her sister, Ofelia Leal of Robstown and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, February 15, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at San Pablo Methodist Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
