MAGDALENA C. SANDOVAL PHARR – Magdalena C. Sandoval, 95, died Sunday December 7, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born to a Pharr pioneer family and lived her life in Pharr. At the 2009 Pharr Centennial, she was recognized as the longest living resident born and raised in Pharr, TX. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, lifelong member of the DAV Auxiliary, Alamo, San Juan, Pharr Pan American Round Table and the Pharr Garden Club (President 1992-93). She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Artemio Sandoval; parents, Dionicio and Luz Contreras; in-laws, Federico and Anita Sandoval. Mrs. Sandoval is survived by three children, Anna Luz Sandoval of McAllen, Alma Sandoval Evans of San Antonio, TX, and Monty Lee Bradley of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Tricia (Leo) Palacios of Austin, TX, Edmundo (Diana) Martinez of Katy, TX, and Jennifer (Matt) Muenchow of Cibolo, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria Rose Martinez, Vivienne Scarlette Martinez, both of Katy, TX, Maxwell Charles Muenchow of Cibolo, TX; and a sister, Ma. Luisa (Ricardo) Sanchez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Donations can be made to The Alamo – San Juan – Pharr Pan American Round Table Scholarship fund in her name. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
