MATEO SANDOVAL
PHARR - Mateo Sandoval, 100, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Francisco Sandoval, Dolores Vargas, Ramon Moreno; and a niece Elvira Ramirez.
Mr. Sandoval is survived by his wife, Hortecia Sandoval of Pharr; his children, Isabel Sandoval of Edinburg, Maria (Medardo) Sandoval, Yolanda Sandoval Salinas, Lydia (Noel) Gonzalez, Francisco (Angelita) Sandoval, Mateo (Nora) Sandoval, Jr., Gloria (David) Garcia, all of Pharr, and Ricardo (Herminia) Sandoval of Idaho; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
