Pedro V. Sauceda, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26th, 2016, at Aurora House in Weslaco, TX.
He was born on September 2nd, 1930 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It was there that he met his wife, Isadora. Together they moved to Texas in 1952 and then to Wenatchee, Washington State in 1958 where they raised their family. After retiring in 1985, they returned to reside in Alamo, TX. Pedro became a member of the North West Laborers Union over 50 years ago and worked in construction on dams in Washington State. Some of the dams he worked on as a laborer include: Wells Dam, Rock Island Dam and the Grand Coulee Dam.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Juan V. Sauceda.
Pedro is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isadora Carlin Sauceda; his eight children, Mary Pena, Juanita Nigoa, Rigoberto Sauceda, Antonio Sauceda, Raquel Kostyk, Javier Sauceda, Sylvia Hinojosa, Ramon Sauceda; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Carlos Sauceda and Tomas Sauceda, both of Cerritos, Mexico.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, August 29th, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 30th, 2016, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo, TX. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo, TX.
