Tonja Lynn Schach, 48, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Tonja was a blessing to everyone who she came in contact with, always giving wholeheartedly every chance she got. She was strong, brave, caring, selfless, but most of all a loving mother to all. Tonja enjoyed being with family all while passing her time doing some of her most favorite things. She loved going fishing, taking care of her plants, playing with her dogs, and spending time with family over some card games. Some of her most proud accomplishments were laying the pedal to the metal on her proudly owned Dodge Hemi truck. She also could never stop talking about how much she liked her job at Lowe’s and her second family there. While she is no longer here physically, Tonja always reminded us that she will be in our hearts and right alongside of us in every journey we take.
She is preceded in death by her father, Doyle Schimmels.
Tonja is survived by her husband, James Schach; five children, Jeromy Valadez, Joshua Wilson, Shantelle Schach, Kevin Schach, Kasey Schach; her mother, Sonja Schimmels; and two sisters, Tracie Taylor and Tammie Nolan.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
