Librada "Lee" Serna

LIBRADA “LEE” SERNA PHARR – Librada “Lee” Serna, 82, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Pax Villa Hospice in McAllen. Born in San Juan, Mrs. Serna had lived in Pharr for 12 years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Higinio and Lilia Vasquez; and four siblings, Beatrice Cano, Raymundo Vasquez, Concepcion Vasquez, and Rogelio Pena. Mrs. Serna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ruben Serna, of Pharr; five daughters, Dahlia (†Michael) Rodriguez, of Pharr, Cynthia (George) Castaneda, of Cibolo, Texas, Sandra Serna, of Houston, Texas, Laura Lee (Rene) Ramirez, of Pharr and Dr. Patricia (Robbin Nelson) Serna, of Houston; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Audrey, Eric, Brian, Aaron, Anthony, Ryan, Lauren, Rene Lee; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Hector Vasquez; and a sister, Mary Ramirez, both of San Juan. The family would like to thank Socorro Hernandez and Angel Hernandez, for the care given to their mother. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
