HOMERO SERNA, SR.







PHARR – Homero Serna Sr., 79, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Mexico, he had lived in Pharr most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Silvano Serna and Elida Garza de Serna; two brothers, Antonio Serna and Carlos Serna.

Mr. Serna is survived by his wife, Maria C. Serna of Pharr; six children, Homero (Isabel) Serna Jr., Nora (Ernesto) Gonzalez, Abby Noyola, Ariel (Maria) Serna, all of San Juan, Paty (Jesus) Rodriguez of Pharr, Mary (†Jesus) Aguirre of La Feria; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jose Serna, Fernando Serna, Arnoldo Serna, Juan Serna, all of Edinburg, Adrian Serna of Dallas; and four sisters, Cleotilde Serna, Arminda Garcia, Yolanda Serna, Sylvia Serna, all of Edinburg.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
