MARY THERESE SHEFCIK (BROWN)

EDINBURG – Mary Therese Shefcik (Brown), 61, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Shefcik had lived in McAllen since 1986 and was an educator with St. Joseph Catholic School in Edinburg. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Mary Regina Rebman.

Mrs. Shefcik is survived by her husband, Thomas Shefcik of McAllen; three children, Charles Brown of Los Angeles, California, Ellen Brown of Chicago, Illinois and Lydia Brown of McAllen; two stepchildren, Andrew Brown of McAllen and Courtney Willard of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Rebman and Gregory Rebman, both of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Joan Frazier of Hardin, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 25, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Cremation will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Memorial contribution can be made to Mary Shefcik Memorial Fund at St. Joseph Catholic School, 119 W. Fat St. in Edinburg. Make contributions payable to St. Joseph Catholic School.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
