Herlinda "Linda" Silva

HERLINDA "LINDA" SILVA EDINBURG - Herlinda "Linda" Silva, 80, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mercedes, Mrs. Silva had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Herlinda was a great loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will live in our hearts forever. We will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ubaldo and Catalina Garza. Herlinda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gilberto Silva Sr. of Edinburg; two sons, David (Linda) Silva of Edinburg and Gilbert (Laura) Silva Jr. of Mission; three daughters, Sylvia (Alfredo) Solis of McAllen, Irma Moncivias of Edinburg, Linda Silva of McAllen; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four siblings, Ernesto Garza of Hereford, TX, Angelica Alfaro, Oralia Corona, both of Edinburg, and Maria Elena Enriquez of Oregon. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 23, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
