ROBERT A. SKLOSS McCOOK/EDINBURG — Robert A. Skloss, 69, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at his residence in Edinburg. Mr. Skloss was born and raised in McCook. Robert took on the family tradition of farming. He was an innovative, progressive and imaginative farmer who at his peak farmed over 7000 acres in a single season. Robert grew many crops: sorghum, cotton, corn, potatoes, peanuts, carrots, peas, and guar. He enjoyed raising his favorite crop of all, watermelons, for the last 15 years of his farming career. Robert had many hobbies. Fishing, boating, flying, hunting and playing golf are just a few of the many things he enjoyed in life. These activities brought him together with many of his closest friends. Robert always enjoyed the time spent with his friends and family, sharing good jokes and retelling stories of adventures past. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Theresa Skloss; two sons, Timothy (Michelle) Skloss and Steven (Karen) Skloss; three granddaughters, Sara, Sidney and Sophia; a grandson, Austin; two sisters, Elizabeth and Patricia; four brothers, Andy, Ernie, Anthony and Ervin.
