Heriberto "Herb" Solis

HERIBERTO “HERB” SOLIS EDINBURG - Herb Solis, 85, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 17, 2015. Mr. Solis was born in Mercedes, Texas, and had lived in Edinburg since 1973. He worked for the Screwworm Eradication facility for 20 years and Civil Service for a total of 30 years. He was a good husband to his wife, Hilda who passed away in 2009 after 36 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents, Agustin and Carmen Solis; four brothers and four sisters. Mr. Solis is survived by two children, Eva (Jim) Lott of Schertz, Texas and Alonzo (Norma) Richmond, Jr. of Edinburg; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Military honors will be conducted by Sgt. Benito Alaniz VFW Post 7473 of Elsa. Pallbearers will be J. Adam Lott, Alonzo Richmond III., J. Matthew Lott, Alex Solis, Arnold Silva, and Hector O. Chapa.
