Psalm 71: 17-18

God, you have taught me from my youth; to this day I proclaim your wondrous deeds.

Now that I am old and gray, do not forsake me, God, that I may proclaim your might to all generations yet to come



EDINBURG – Hilda Solis, 78, went to be with her Lord Thursday, August 27, 2009.



Mrs. Solis was born in La Grulla, Texas, and had lived in Edinburg since 1958. She was a member and faithful servant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Mrs. Solis taught for 30 years with the Edinburg C.I.S.D and 10 years with Sacred Heart Catholic School in Edinburg.



She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Eva Hinojosa.



Mrs. Solis is survived by his husband, Herb Solis of Edinburg; two children, Eva (Jim) Lott of Schertz, Texas and Alonzo (Norma) Richmond, Jr. of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Eva Richmond, Adam (Brenda) Lott, Alonzo (Karina) Richmond, III and Matthew Lott; eight great-grandchildren, Stella Reyes, Brittany Reyes, Diego Richmond, Dominic Richmond, Daniel Vargas, Damian Vargas, Lucas Lott and Carys Lott; three brothers, Ed (Irma) Hinojosa of Edinburg, Pedro (Amparo) Hinojosa, Jr. of College Station, Texas, and Adolfo (Elda) Hinojosa of La Joya; two sisters, Eva (Albert) Chapa of La Joya and Filomena (Willie) Alaniz of Houston, Texas; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.



Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 30, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.



Pallbearers will be J. Adam Lott, Alonzo Richmond III., J. Matthew Lott, Dan D. Hinojosa, Alberto X. Chapa Jr. and Hector O. Chapa.



Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
