GILBERT G. SOLIZ EDINBURG - Gilbert G. Soliz, 78, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Mr. Soliz was born in Victoria, TX and had lived in Edinburg for the past six years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Hermelinda Soliz; two sisters, Linda and Viola Soliz; four brothers, Daniel, Richard, Ernesto, and Robert. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Julieta Soliz of Edinburg; seven children, Dr. Amil (Lucy) Soliz, Cynthia Patino, Richard D. Soliz, Anna (Dan) Taylor, all of Houston, TX, Raul (Regina) Cantu Jr., Rigoberto Cantu, both of McAllen, and Elvira Veronica (Kenneth) Hermman of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Henry Soliz of Houston, TX, Lorenzo Soliz, Tommy Soliz, Walter Soliz, Judy Burger, Mary Kutchka, and Teresita Soliz, all of Victoria, TX. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 20, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
