ESTEBAN SOTO
ALAMO – Esteban Soto, 63, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in La Villa, Texas, Mr. Soto lived in Alamo since 1971. He was a member of Edcouch Elsa Rotary Club for many years before retiring from the Edcouch Elsa School District as a special education diagnostician. His spontaneous, imaginative mind was shown through his love of dancing, singing and sports memorabilia collection. Mr. Soto was a great fan of the Texas Longhorns.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Soto and his father Santiago Morales.
Mr. Soto is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dominga Soto, of Alamo; four children, Javier Esteban (Erika) Soto, of Sharyland, Veronica Gomez, of Pharr, Melissa Ann (Armando Eden) Cantu, Robert Louis Soto, both of Alamo; six grandchildren, Brittany Rae Gomez, Luis Gomez, Jr., Makayla McCall, Edrick Jay Cantu, Brooklyn Skye Soto, Kai Jakobee Cantu; a sister, Maria de Jesus Villasana Soto, of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico; and a brother, Cruz Villasana, of El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 30, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
