Paul Frances Pontano Sr

EDINBURG - Paul Frances Pontano, Sr., 90, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at The Bridges in Edinburg. Paul Pontano, otherwise known as "Uncle Paul" was the 12th child born to Mateo and Julia Pontano on March 8, 1922 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Mr. Pontano lived in Edinburg since 1986. Paul was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Throughout his life, Paul worked at J&D Produce in Edinburg (since the early 1980's). "Uncle Paul" also worked at the Police Department in Williamstown, NJ., was a truck driver, and helped in the construction of Disney World in Florida. "Uncle Paul" is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Procida Pontano; two sons, Matthew and Johnny Pontano; all brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons, Paul Pontano, Jr. and Frankie Pontano; grandson, Paul Pontano, III, all of New Jersey. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today, June 23, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
