EDINBURG - Janet Louise Stanfill, 67, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at peace surrounded by her family and friends. Janet was born in Paragould, Arkansas and had lived in Edinburg since 1980. She is remembered as being a very giving person who cared for everyone, she was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents Lonzo and Oneida Ward; brother Rhonny Ward; and sister Sharon Jones. Janet is survived by her husband of 41 years Larry Gene Stanfill; one daughter Kathryn L. Stanfill of Edinburg; one stepson, Rickey Gene Stanfill; two grandsons, Cody and Kyle Stanfill; nine siblings, Wanda (Frank) Ward, Kenneth (Elaine) Ward, Vicky (Frosty) Thompson, Keitha Caples, Becky (Jeff) Tyner, Gaylon (Tia) Ward, Elaine Glover, Roger (Charlotte) Ward of Arkansas, and Bruce (Beverly) Ward of Florida. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service Monday, May 14, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 am, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 for a 10 am Graveside service at Fike Cemetery in Edinburg, with Pastor Denise M. Grant officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
