Edna Tijerina

Edna Tijerina, 73, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
She obtained her master's degree at Pan American University and was an educator for 32 years at PSJA ISD. Edna, a loving mother, and friend was a very giving and caring person who loved serving others and her community. Edna was a faithful member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Tijerina; her parents, Humberto and Lydia Saenz; her in-laws, Gabriel and Elma Tijerina.
Mrs. Tijerina is survived by her two children, Betsaida (Eddie) Rodriguez of McAllen, Roel Ruben Tijerina of Pharr; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Tijerina; and a sister, Aydee (Ramon) Guerra of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service today, October 28, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
