Margarita "Doña Mari" Tijerina

MARGARITA "DOÑA MARI" TIJERINA MCALLEN - Margarita "Doña Mari" Tijerina, 55, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Doña Mari was born on February 1, 1959 and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She graduated from UCAS Cosmetology School in 1994. She is preceded in death by her parents, Candelario and Daria Rodriguez; and a brother, Aurelio Rodriguez. Margarita is survived by her husband, Benito Felimon Tijerina of Edinburg; three sons, Jose Luis (Lulu) Tijerina, Rolando Felimon Tijerina, Oscar (Laura) Tijerina, all of Edinburg; four granddaughters, Sakura Tijerina of McAllen, Alexis Nicole Tijerina of San Antonio, Alyssa Tijerina, Michaela Tijerina, both of McAllen; three brothers, Celedon Rodriguez of Joliet, Illinois, Cristo Rodriguez of Mission, and Jose "Pepe" Rodriguez of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, October 29, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
