MARIA GLORIA TIJERINA
MCALLEN – Maria Gloria Tijerina, 81, died Monday, November 29, 2010, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Penitas, Texas, Mrs. Tijerina had lived in McAllen most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio "Tony" Tijerina Sr.; her parents, Romulo and Maria Martinez; two sisters, Lydia Schaeffer and Baudelia Rosales.
Mrs. Tijerina is survived by her three children, Antonio "Tony" (Noemi) Tijerina Jr. of Austin, Ernesto (Sandra) Tijerina of Edinburg, Maria Gloria (Jorge) Echazarreta of McAllen; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roberto Martinez of McAllen, Romulo Martinez Jr. of Sharyland; a sister, Minerva "Minnie" Brink of Mission and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary today, November 30, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Memorial service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
