ALAMO - Juan Manuel Torres, 54, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at his residence in Alamo.
Born in Mexico, Mr. Torres had lived in Alamo most of his life. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church of Alamo.
Juan Manuel is preceded in death by his mother, Tomasa Torres; a brother, Jorge Torres; two sisters, Maria De Jesus and Marina Torres.
He is survived by his wife, Estella Torres, of Edinburg; five children, Yvonne Torres, Juan Manuel Torres, Jr., Jannita Torres, Isaac Torres, and Kimberly Torres, all of Alamo; step-daughter, Abigail Bernal of Alamo; father, Jose Torres of Mexico; six grandchildren; three brothers, Severo Torres, Valentin Torres, and Jose Luis Torres, all of Hoopeston, IL; four sisters, Concepcion Granados, Magdalena Torres, both of Hoopeston, IL, Raquel Torres, and Maria Granados of Dallas, TX.
A prayer service was held Monday, January 2, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation took place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
