DOLORES D. "DEE DEE" TREVINO
EDINBURG - Dolores D. "Dee Dee" Trevino, 39, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at her residence in Edinburg. Dee Dee is now one of God's angels. The last three years of her life she battled triple negative receptor breast cancer. She fought valiantly and with incomparable courage. She was an example of strength and faith as well as an inspiration to all whom she met. She will be remembered for her unconditional love and acceptance of all in her life.
Dee Dee was born in McAllen and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Until her illness prevented it, she was an educator with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District and was last employed at Villarreal Elementary. She loved her students and took pride in their successes.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rafael Reyes; and a niece, Deidra Romero.
Dee Dee is survived by her husband, Guadalupe "Boonie" Trevino; two children, Miguel Trevino, Celeste Trevino; her mother, Gloria Reyes; and three sisters, Drucilla D. Reyes, D'Ette D. Reyes Alvarez, and Doreen D. Garza, all of Edinburg. She is also survived by a niece and three nephews along with a large extended family of in-laws, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Monday, June 20, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
