ELOY L. TREVIÑO PHARR - Our Heavenly Father called Eloy L. Treviño, 79, home on September 12, 2013, after a lengthy battle of illnesses he fought with much dignity, courage and fortitude. Eloy is now enjoying eternal life with his son and granddaughter, Gilbert and Belzy Treviño; his parents, Juan and Maria Treviño; and his brother and sister, Homero and Lupita Treviño. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judge Rosa E. Treviño; sons, Eloy Treviño, Jr., Cooky (Julie) Treviño, Herman (Fay) Treviño,† Gilbert (Nydia Montalvo) Treviño, Charlie (Amy) Treviño; and daughters, Nidia Treviño and Dr. Lisa R. Treviño; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Eloy was loved by all who knew him. He was a generous man and a wonderful family man and we will miss his extraordinary sense of humor. We wish to thank the Alfredo Gonzalez State Veterans Home (Alzheimer's Unit) and all their staff for their love and care over the last year and the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas. The Treviño family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of their family and friends for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks to Mr. George Lackey and John Dennett for their unwavering care throughout the last year. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today, September 15, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
