TEOFILO TREVINO, JR. SAN JUAN - Teofilo Trevino, Jr., 85, passed away Sunday morning, February 16, 2014 at 1: 15. We had the very sad task of saying goodbye to our beloved father for the last time as we held his hand and watched him take his last breath. Our hearts are filled with so much pain from the knowledge that we will never speak to him again. However it gives us great comfort to know that he will be reuniting with his beautiful bride of 60 years in a place where suffering no longer exists. Mr. Trevino was born and raised in San Juan and had served as a former Commissioner of San Juan. He was also a member of the Lions Club, and a Navy Veteran. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Z. “Nena” Trevino; parents, Teofilo and Aeropaja Trevino; three brothers , Ciro Trevino, Sgt., Leonel Trevino, and Agustin Trevino. Mr. Trevino is survived by five children, Veronica (Jose) Gutierrez, Sandra (Eddie) Mirza, Mark (Sylvia) Trevino, Eric (Lily) Trevino, all of McAllen, George (Lucy) Trevino, of Brownsville; three sisters, Alicia (+Rey) Vasquez, of Dallas, TX., Elodia Trevino, of Pharr, and Aeropaja (+Gilbert) Flores, of San Juan; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
