IRENE V. PERALEZ
EDINBURG - Irene V. Peralez, 83, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in Robstown, Mrs. Peralez had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Irene was a longtime, dedicated educator who touched the lives of many throughout her 32 years in teaching. Her teaching career began in Starr County and continued in Edinburg. Her legacy will continue through all those she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Eloisa Villarreal and six siblings.
Irene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jose Peralez Jr. of Edinburg, three children, Jose (Geena) Peralez III, Luis Carlos (Myrna G.) Peralez, Norma Irene (Fermin) Gonzalez III, all of Edinburg; five grandchildren, Dolores, Gabrielle, Ilianna, Amanda and Jacqueline; a brother, Felipe (Elida) Villarreal of Rio Grande City; and a sister, Idoliana (Fidencio) Guerra of El Sauz, TX.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. A reception will take place immediately after the burial, at Memorial Event Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
