CARLOS VALDEZ SAN JUAN - Carlos Valdez, 51, passed away October 24, 2012, at his residence in San Juan after his year-long battle with cancer. Carlos was born on September 1, 1961 in San Juan. He was a graduate of PSJA High School in 1979. Mr. Valdez especially loved spending time with his three grandsons. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, nieces, and nephews. His family and friends will always remember him by his willingness to help others, his delicious barbeque and his adventurous stories. Carlos is preceded in death by his brother, Humberto Valdez. He is survived by his parents, Florentino and Mercedes Valdez; wife, Teresa; two sons, Carlos (Sherri) Valdez, Jr. and Humberto (Denyssa) Valdez; three grandchildren, Carlos III, John and Alex; four sisters, Berta (+Andres) Martinez, Sandra (Lauro) Luera, Rosie (Jesse) Liscano, and Diana Valdez; two brothers, Santiago Valdez and Jose Valdez. Mr. and Mrs. Florentino Valdez would like to thank all of his family and friends that came to spend time with him during his illness. Family and friends are invited to join us for a rosary at 7 p.m. today, October 25, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
