DOMINGA "MINGA" VALDEZ
EDINBURG - Dominga "Minga" Valdez, 81, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Edinburg.
Mrs. Valdez was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George G. Valdez; her parents, Francisco and Otila Garza; four siblings, Joe Garza, Aurelia Reyna, Alicia Garza, Francisco Garza Jr.
Dominga is survived by four children, George "Sonny" Valdez Jr. of Edinburg, Sandra Lynn Cadena of McAllen, Daniel (Elena) Valdez and David (Marivel) Valdez, both of Edinburg; two siblings, Felipa Perez and Lupita Jasso; eleven grandchildren, George "Trey" Valdez III, Stephen Valdez, Jacob Cadena, Joseph Cadena, Jared Cadena, Mathew Valdez, David Valdez Jr., Justin Valdez, Kayla Valdez, Vanessa Montes, Audriana Morin; two great-grandchildren, Liberty and Ashton Montes.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, April 18, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. The family would like thank Senior Care of Edinburg for taking such great care of their mom.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
