ARTURO “AJ” VALE
EDINBURG — Arturo “AJ” Vale, 80, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Rio Grande City, Mr. Vale had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Mr. Vale was a prominent Edinburg and Elsa businessman; he owned and operated Edinburg Meat Produce and La Bonita Inn Restaurant in Elsa.
He is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Lorena Renee Moreno; his parents, Joseph Jefferson Vale and Brigida G. Pena; and two sisters, Olga V. Ramirez and Olivia V. Moya Bautista.
Mr. Vale is survived by his wife, Celia P. Vale, of Edinburg; six children, Edna (Roman) Vera, Jose Joel (Linda) Vale, Maria Elva Vale, Maria Elena (Dr. James) Hesbrook, Arturo Jose (Gloria) Vale Jr., LeeRoy (Elisa) Vale, all of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his step-father, Amadeo Peña of Edinburg; six brothers, Joseph Joel Vale Jr., of Pharr, Robert D. Vale, of Elsa, Armando Peña and Arnoldo Peña both of Edinburg, Margil Vale, of San Antonio, Texas, and Joseph Joel Vale, of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters, Ofelia T. Longoria of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Oralia P. Trejo and Odilia P. Zuniga, both of Edinburg, and Juanita V. Garza and Irma V. Brown, both of San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 26, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
