CELIA P. VALE
EDINBURG – Celia P. Vale, 90, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at Solara Hospital in McAllen. Celia was born in Delmita, Texas and lived most of her life in Edinburg. She was the mother of six children. Her most important role was being a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love of family is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Family, unconditional love and care was her focus in life. Besides being and amazing mother and homemaker: she was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and others. Nobody walked out of her home with an empty stomach. Her pastimes were watching novellas and the Mass on EWTN and of course the food channel. Her greatest gift was her kindness, graciousness, generosity and humility. She was never expected to be rewarded for the efforts, yet we think she believed the love her family and friends felt for her was its own reward. She was our “Earth Angel” who had us protected with her prayers. She had an unwavering faith in God. She prayed a rosary for each of her family members on a daily basis. She would light a candle for us and her grandchildren when needed for medical or school exams. We love her with all our hearts and we will truly miss her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Arturo Jose Vale, Sr.; her parents, Eugenio and Daria F. Pena; her brothers, Eugenio Pena, Jr., Santos Pena and Jesus Pena; her sisters, Petra Pena and Arcadia P. Nino.
Celia is survived by six children, Maria Edna (Roman) Vera, Jose Joel (Linda) Vale, Maria Elva Vale, Maria Elena (Dr. James G.) Hesbrook, Arturo Jose, Jr. (Gloria) Vale and Lee Roy (Elisa) Vale, all of Edinburg. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; Celia has a sister, Oralia P. Narvaez of Pasadena, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Oralia P. Trejo, Odilia P. Zuniga and Lydia G. Pena; two brothers-in-law, Armando Pena and Arnoldo Pena; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Acknowledgments: to all her healing angels, Fr. Manoj Kumar Najak from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, Msgr. Louis Brum from Holy Spirit Church in McAllen and Prayer warriors, Dr. Letrise Winkfield, Dr. Guillermo Salinas, Dr. Norma Ramirez, Dr. Juan Pablo Gomez, Dr. Juan Guardia, all her doctors and nurses from Windsor Arbor View, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg and Solara Hospital in McAllen.
