Rodolfo Valentino "Tino" Benavidez

EDINBURG – Rodolfo Valentino “Tino” Benavidez, 83, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg.
Born in Robstown, he had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Benavidez was a great and loving husband, father and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelo and Felipa F. Benavidez; and five siblings, Guadalupe B. Dominguez, Alicia B. Luera, Marcelo Benavidez Jr., Bernardina B. Leal and Rene Benavidez.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife, Susana M. Benavidez of Edinburg; three children, Maribel B. (Phillip) Gomez of Weslaco, Rodolfo V. (Pamela) Benavidez Jr. of San Angelo, Noel (Roberta) Benavidez of Edinburg; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Gloria B. (Raul) Castillo of Houston, Trinidad B. Ruiz of Robstown, Leocadia B. (Martin) Castillo, Ramona B. Gonzalez, Felipa De La Garza, Petra B. (Raul) Aguilar, all of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
