EDELMIRA R. VALLEJO EDINBURG - Edelmira R. Vallejo, 93, our Mami, Abuelita, Welis as we dearly called her was called by our Lord and Father on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Our loving angel has now left us to be with our Lord and Father in heaven. We find ourselves lost without her, but thank God for all that she leaves behind (her heart and all her love) towards each and everyone in her family and those whose lives she touched! Mami was and will continue to be the wind beneath our wings. With loving care, Dear Jesus, you entrusted her to us and with loving care we send her back to you, for we know you have prepared a royal welcome and a beautiful mansion in your presence. "As He promised, He will do." (John 14:1-4). Born in White City, TX, Mrs. Vallejo had lived in McAllen most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Adelita Rios-Sanchez; and eight siblings. Mila is survived by two daughters who were the love of her life, Nydia (+Joseph H.) Gonzalez, Jr. and Anna (Leo) Mejia, both of McAllen; seven grandchildren, Christy Flores, Daniel Caceres, II, Michael Caceres, Cyndy Ann Caceres, Jada Nicole Tristan, Anita De La Isla, John James Snell; and eight great-grandchildren, Danny, Delaney, Ethan, Aries, Isa, Matthew, Jillian, Liliana. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. memorial service Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, or to The Rainbow Room, 300 E. Canton Rd. Edinburg, TX 78539. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
