JESUS G. VASQUEZ SAN JUAN - Jesus G. Vasquez, 91, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mexico, Mr. Vasquez lived in San Juan and was formerly of Pharr. He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rene F. Avendano. Mr. Vasquez is survived by his wife, Alicia Vasquez, of San Juan; five daughters, Olinda Avendano, of San Juan, Oralia (Ismael) Acosta, of Alamo, Jesusa (Lauro) Leal, of San Benito, Leticia (Francisco) Valverde, of Edinburg, Laura (Rene) Campos, of Pharr; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reynaldo Vasquez, of San Benito, Ricardo Vasquez, of Mexico; and a sister, Gertrudes Vasquez de Garcia, of Mexico. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 16, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
