Laura E. Vasquez

EDINBURG - The glorious and blessed Life of our devoted Mother, Laura E. Vasquez has now been concluded here on earth. She took her last breath, peacefully in her home, surrounded by all of her Family. She began her walk with our Lord Jesus Christ by entering the gates of heaven on Sunday , June 26, 2011.
Laura E. Vasquez, born in Laredo, Texas, lived in Edinburg all of her life.

She served the many children of ECISD for 35 years. She was a member of the Guadalupanas, a Euchuristic Minister, and Bible Study Instructor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.

She triumphed over cancer and was a six time survivor. Our Mother was given the oppurtunity to live life to the fullest and was a living example of how her Faith and Our Lord overcame humanly impossible challenges.

She has touched and inspired many to live their lives boldly and with passion.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Vicente Lozano and Maria Luisa Lozano, her four brothers, Lupe, Beto, Chale, and Fernando Lozano; her three sisters, Maximina Flores, Josephina Almanza, and Dora Lozano and her husband Reymundo Vasquez.
Laura E. Vasquez is survived by all four of her children; Tony Garcia, Hilda (Frank) Garza, Joe E. (Mary) Garcia, and Laura Leticia (Elizondo) Vasquez ;
Ten grandchildren, Jessica Renee (Nicholas), Cristina Rae, Frankie Xavier, Laura Celena, Larissa Angela, Joe E. II, Matthew Vincent, Brittany Nicole, Arista Brianna, and Mark Anthony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura E. Vasquez will be deeply missed by many and forever loved by her Family and friends.?
"G-MA" as her grandchildren called her, have vowed to carry on her legacy of being spirited servants, strong and compassionate.

The family is thankful to so many, especially Dr. Price and the extraordinary Dr. Siller and to Pax Villa Hospice and the Hospice Angels, Alma and Almita and our Nurse Nora, for the compassionate care and attention they provided to our Mom and Family. A sincere and special thanks to our wonderful friend and pastor Father Robert "Bob" Charlton.

We love you Mom.

Our Family extends our warmest thanks and appreciation to all who Loved her and for your constant prayers and support throughout her life.

Visitation will be held on June 28, 2011 from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
