RITA V. VASQUEZ DONNA — Rita V. Vasquez, 86, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at her residence in Donna. Ms. Vasquez was born in Runge, Texas and had lived in Donna most of her life. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Edward Gonzales; and her twin sister, Julia Barrios. Ms. Vasquez is survived by five children, Lala (Felipe) Trevino, of McAllen, Gerardo (Barbara) Vasquez, of Sharyland, Yolanda (Joe David) Solis, Gloria V. Vasquez, both of Donna, Ruben (Lupita) Vasquez, of Alamo; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eduardo (Berta) Vela, of Houston; and a sister, Nicolasa (Joe) Martinez, of Alamo. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. The Family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Flores and staff for the care given to Ms. Vasquez. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
