YOLANDA L. VASQUEZ
EDINBURG - Yolanda L. Vasquez age 64 passed away on May 25, 2011 in Houston, Texas.
Born in Edinburg, Mrs. Vasquez had lived there all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lucas and Maria Longoria.
Mrs. Vasquez is survived by her husband of 44 years, Pete G. Vasquez of Edinburg; three children, Gilbert Leo Vasquez of McAllen, Thelma Celene (Ray) Ochoa of Edinburg and Christopher Pete (Regina) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren, Casey Lynn Vasquez, Anthony Jacob, Celene Grace Wong, Steven Ray Ochoa, Mariah Sandy Vasquez, and Christopher Isaiah Vasquez; a brother, Leo (Mary) Longoria of Edinburg; a sister, Thelma L. (Hector) Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven nieces and nephews; and thirteen great nieces and nephews.
She retired after 35 years of service in the Attorney General’s Office. Her greatest joy in life was to spend time and travel with her children and grandchildren.

The Vasquez Family would like to thank staff at The Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas for the care and compassion they provided.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Monday, May 30, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
