ANGEL G. VELA
SAN JUAN - Angel G. Vela, 70, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in Mexico, Mr. Vela had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. He was owner of Vela's Nursery in San Juan.
Dad was a warm and caring father...rest in peace, dad, you're with mom and Corina now...we will see you all again. We will always love and miss you!
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca A. Vela; a daughter, Corina Vela; and his parents, Rogelio and Florisa Vela.
Mr. Vela is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Ann Vela, Melissa Vela, Christine Vela, all of San Juan; three grandchildren, Anthony Ray Alvarez, Korinna Renae Saenz, Angela Ann Vargas; a great-granddaughter, Aylee Rae Alvarez; seven brothers, Rogelio Vela, Elisandro Vela, Baltazar Vela, Juan Vela, Candelario Vela, all of San Juan, Florentino Vela, of Lopezville, Laurencio Vela, of Edinburg; and a sister, Altagracia Rocha, of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, December 15, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Thursday, December 16, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
