FEDERICO “LICO” VELA
DONNA- Federico “Lico” Vela, 76, went home to our Lord Friday, June 22, 2018, at his residence in Donna.
Mr. Vela was born in Progreso, Texas and lived in Donna all of his life.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Del Carmen Vela; and a daughter, Concepcion Trevino.
Mr. Vela is survived by three sons, Federico (Sara†) Vela of Kansas City, Missouri, Jose Arturo (Belinda) Vela of Donna, David (Renata) Vela of Weslaco; two daughters, Anabel A. (Rodolfo) Alvarez and Delia (Alejandro) Alvarez, both of Donna; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, June 25, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
