JAVIER “BIG J” VELA
SAN JUAN — Javier “Big J” Vela, 53 went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at McAllen Medical Center.
Javier was born in McAllen and lived in San Juan most of his life. He was a loving husband and a caring father. He will be greatly missed, and will always be loved.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Candelaria Vela.
Mr. Vela is survived by his wife, Liliana Vela; five children, Javier Vela, Jr., Antonio Trejo, Ana Martha Trejo, Francisco Rodriguez, and Kaylan Esparza; nine grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
