BRIAN VELASQUEZ
PHARR – Brian Velasquez, 13, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Son of Mario and Elizabeth Velasquez, he attended Escalante Middle School in Pharr as an 8th grader. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He not only used his brilliant mind to win 1st place in a chess tournament, but also used his athleticism to compete in multiple activities which included football, soccer, basketball and track and field.
Brian is survived by his parents, Mario and Elizabeth Velasquez; his brothers, Mario Jr., and Franklin Elian; and a sister, Mareli.
Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. today, December 22, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
